A night where music became a universal language—Angélique Kidjo at the Vatican, celebrating grace, unity, and the power of human connection.
Angélique Kidjo joins an extraordinary global lineup for Grace for the World, a live concert event filmed at St. Peter’s Square in Vatican City—now streaming on Disney+.
ABOUT THE CONCERT
Grace for the World features performances by Pharrell Williams with the Voices of Fire Gospel Choir, Maestro Andrea Bocelli, Jennifer Hudson, Karol G, John Legend, Clipse, Teddy Swims, Jelly Roll, BamBam, the Choir of the Diocese of Rome led by Maestro Marco Frisina, Angélique Kidjo, and an international choir under the musical direction of Adam Blackstone.
Grace for the World marks a powerful new milestone in Angélique Kidjo’s artistic journey—an invitation to perform from one of the world’s most symbolic stages, St. Peter’s Square, alongside some of the most influential voices in contemporary music.
Co-directed by Pharrell Williams and Andrea Bocelli, the concert closed the Third World Meeting on Human Fraternity and served as a cultural cornerstone of the Vatican’s 2025 Jubilee Year. From the heart of Vatican City, the event celebrates unity, dialogue, and the shared humanity that music uniquely brings to life.
Angélique Kidjo’s performance stands as a testament to her lifelong mission: bridging cultures, honoring African musical heritage, and amplifying messages of dignity and connection on the world’s most meaningful platforms. Sharing the stage with artists spanning gospel, classical, soul, pop, and hip-hop, she helped shape an inclusive soundscape that mirrored the concert’s message of fraternity across borders.
Beyond the music, the evening wove together reflections from global cultural and civic leaders, culminating in a breathtaking aerial drone and light installation inspired by the Sistine Chapel—an unforgettable fusion of art, faith, and innovation.
“This is a rare cultural moment where the world stops and collectively tunes in. It is a message of unity and grace for all of humanity.”
“Let us shine a spotlight on humanity with music from the very heart of Christianity and the most important spiritual square, reaching the entire world with a single message of brotherhood and peace.”
