New single, “Fall On Me” Featuring PJ Morton OUT NOW

At the New Orleans Jazz Festival, Angélique Kidjo had a meeting with PJ Morton, an American singer, pianist, and songwriter, Grammy winner and member of Maroon 5 as a keyboardist. Morton, known for his ability to blend soul, gospel, and R&B with a contemporary sensibility, asked her, “What do you want?” Kidjo, an icon of world music and five-time Grammy winner, renowned for her powerful voice and artistic commitment, replied that she had a melody she wanted to sing to him. PJ Morton asked her to give him time to work on the melody and rhythm to create a beat. Soon, he began sending her musical ideas.

The concept of Fall On Me, their collaboration, is inspired by a simple and universal image: farmers waiting for rain to nourish their crops. In the context of a relationship, this metaphor illustrates letting love unfold and grow naturally. The song encourages embracing change, letting love and magic fall into life, and nurturing what grows between two people. This collaboration represents the meeting of two powerful musical worlds: PJ Morton’s modern soul and Angélique Kidjo’s Afro-global influences, creating a song that is both intimate and universal.
