Angélique Kidjo sang at the open ceremony of the Olympic Games in Tokyo, Japan.She along with a group of globally renowned artists delivered a cover of John Lennon’s “Imagine.”

 

The International Olympic Committee worked with german composer Hans Zimmer to take viewers on a musical journey around the world. The Benin-born star Angélique sang alongside John Legend, Alejandro Sanz, Keith Urban and the Suginami Children’s Choir. The Synchron Stage Orchestra and Choir as well as drummers from the TAIKOPROJECT also added to this performance.
