The Batonga Foundation works with community leaders and local mentors to identify girls, often hard to locate, likely to be socially isolated or disadvantaged. Many live on less than $2 a day. The Batonga Foundation serves adolescent girls from 14-18, and young women from 18-30.

Angélique Kidjo, five-time Grammy Award winner, is one of the greatest artists in international music today, a creative force with sixteen albums to her name. The West African singer and songwriter was appointed a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador in 2002.
