Angelique Kidjo sells out the Philharmonie De Paris
Accompanied by the Orchestre Lamoureux, conducted by Gast Waltzing, Angelique sung her symphonic repertoire (African Songs and Philip Glass’ IFÉ, three Yoruba Songs) at the prestigious new parisian hall, the Philharmonie De Paris designed by architect Jean Nouvel. The sold out concert was recorded for the TV5 Monde Tv channel. Guitarist David Laborier and percussionist Magatte Sow were featured in the uplifting performance. French newspaper Le Monde reported: “Mrs Kidjo is dignified, her singing is marvelous, the hall is gorgeous and suddenly Paris becomes a miraculous city."
