_For the first time in History the Fifa World Cup was held on the African continent. The 2010 FIFA Official World Cup Kick-off Concert was held at Orlando Stadium in Johannesburg, South Africa. The concert featured an international cast of high-profile musicians including Shakira, Black Eyed Peas, South African trumpeter Hugh Masekela, Benin’s Angelique Kidjo, Malian singer and guitarist Vieux Farka Touré, Amadou & Mariam and Alicia Keys.

Angelique performed a few songs, including "Move on Up" with John Legend, "Afirika", and "Malaika".
